Welcome to the Montgomery County Black Law Enforcement Officers Association Website

The
MCBLEOA is made up of local, county, state, and federal law enforcement officers
that either live or work in the county.
Many times in this world, a problem is recognized and people discuss it,
complain about it but, rarely if ever, is the problem solved. The idea and
purpose of this association is simple. Rather than condemn police departments
for failure to hire women and minority officers, our goal is to promote a
positive image of minorities in law enforcement and serve as role models for
young minorities candidates who are seeking a career in law enforcement.
The organization promotes a beginning-to-end method to achieve the primary goal
of more minority candidates for entry level police positions. Starting with a
display of a positive, professional image, and followed by tutoring services
that range from pre-examination tutorials to mock oral boards. The candidate is
encouraged, educated and better prepared for the testing process. As a result
of this approach, the number of minority candidates placing on eligibility lists
has risen.
As a secondary, but no less important goal, we work to promote harmony among our
fellow minority officers, as well as fostering a better relationship with the
entire community that we serve. We realize these goals cannot be reached in a
short period, but they are reachable. So let us begin, each of us working today
have the capacity to change a persons life. It is up to us to promote
ourselves, our organization, and to reach into the minority community and
provide it with easier access to a profession that we strived to enter.
